This isn’t your average free server off Aternos. We put real work into making it better than that. Distant Horizons so the world doesn’t just end twenty chunks out. A whole stack of resource packs. Custom authentication so your account is safe. Port forwarding, IPv4 and DuckDNS — figured out, tested, and rebuilt when it broke. A connection that works properly even on cracked launchers. A whole shamble of tinkering went into this.
这不是 Aternos 上随便一个免费服务器。我们花了真功夫，让它比那个好。Distant Horizons，让世界不会走个二十几个区块就没了。一整叠资源包。自己弄的登录验证，保护你的账号。端口转发、IPv4、DuckDNS —— 一个一个研究、测试，坏了再重来。还有一条连破解启动器也进得来的连线。这里面塞了一大堆折腾。
The steps are how you get that version of it. Skip them and you get the average free-server experience, which is exactly the thing all this effort was to escape.

And it isn’t only your problem. If your Distant Horizons build doesn’t match everyone else’s, your horizon breaks — and we spend the last day before the event fixing it instead of playing.

How I host this myself
我是怎么自己架的
This is my old gaming laptop. It sits in my room with a fan under it, and I turned it into a server.
这是我以前的电竞笔电。它现在就放在我房间里，底下垫着一个风扇，被我改成了服务器。
It runs Paper 26.2. The whole world was pregenerated in advance so nothing lags while we explore it. It’s whitelist-only, it backs itself up every night, and it stays on 24/7.
它跑的是 Paper 26.2。整个世界都提前预生成好了，所以我们探索的时候不会卡。只开白名单，每天晚上自动备份，24 小时不关机。
Getting you to it took the longest. It lives at soloumerdeka.duckdns.org, pointed at my home connection through a port forward I set up myself, with a tunnel kept as a fallback in case that ever dies.
最花时间的是怎么让你们连得进来。它的地址是 soloumerdeka.duckdns.org，透过我自己设定的端口转发指向我家的网络，另外还留了一条隧道当备用，万一哪天挂了还有得用。
Why I made this event
我为什么要办这个活动
I built this with my own hands, to make some cool memories for me, my friends, and my friends’ friends.
这是我自己一手做出来的，为了给我自己、我的朋友、还有朋友的朋友留下一些好玩的回忆。
It started on a normal school day. One of the guys said we should play Minecraft together. I saw the holiday week coming up, so I said let’s do a one week SMP challenge — and took it as a chance to test my own skills and host a proper upgraded server for me and the boys.
事情是从一个普通的上学日开始的。有个兄弟说，我们应该一起玩 Minecraft。我看到学校假期那一周快到了，就说不如来搞一个为期一周的 SMP 挑战 —— 顺便当作一个机会，试试自己的能力，帮我和这班兄弟架一台真正升级过的服务器。
By the time planning and development were nearly done it was almost Monday, 31 August. So I themed the whole thing around Merdeka. That’s what the holiday was for anyway.
等到计划和开发都差不多做完，已经快到 8 月 31 日星期一了。所以我干脆把整个活动的主题定成默迪卡。反正这个假期本来就是为了这个。
Why Merdeka
为什么选默迪卡
Merdeka means independence.
默迪卡的意思是独立。
This server and this website are a small testament to that. You don’t have to live paycheck to paycheck to enjoy life and what modern technology can do — and you definitely don’t have to hand it to big corporations charging you for overpriced services.
这个服务器和这个网站，就是一个小小的证明。你不需要像月光族那样过日子，一样可以享受生活、享受现代科技做得到的事 —— 更加不需要把这些交给那些收你天价的大公司。
One guy, one old laptop, one week. That’s the whole thing.
一个人，一台旧笔电，一个星期。就这样而已。
